Sina Kheiri
NSERC Postdoctoral Fellow at MIT
Sina is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at MIT, working with Prof. Roger Kamm and Prof. Ritu Raman. At MIT, Sina is developing a vascularized brain organoid-on-a-chip platform with the aim of identifying specific pathophysiological changes within the neurovascular structure related to Alzheimer’s disease.

Previously, Sina received his Ph.D. from the University of Toronto, where he worked under the supervision of Pro. Eugenia Kumacheva and Prof. Edmond W.K. Young. During his doctoral studies, he developed multiple approaches to advance the organ-on-a-chip platforms for both fundamental biological studies and applied research biology and applied research. His contributions included leveraging computational CFD modelling to expedite the design process, innovating the design and fabrication of a "recoverable" spheroid-on-a-chip platform, and integrating artificial intelligence techniques for the optimization of multidrug screenings.
